Help! I think my Labrador has a skin allergy atopy, is it curable or is there treatment?!?

My dog has been scratching a lot at his neck (which is becoming hairless and a blackish grayish color), stomach and licking his paws. I read that these are all signs of this allergy; I thought his recent hair loss on his neck was from the new collar I got him with a rubber like cushion for comfort. I am very worried! And I am looking for any extra information. Thank you

I would highly recommend trying to find a Veterinary Dermatologist in your area. A specialist can save you money in the long run.

Has he been checked at all for this????

It sounds like mange, but there are other causes.

The blackish grey is often thickened skin from chronic infections caused from the scratching at mange mites.

If it is mange or another skin condition it may be curable. But waiting could make things much worse.

Get the dog to a vet, find a specialist if possible but any vet can help if it's mange.
