Reply:Melody: Any of the oral antihistimines will work. However, if you prefer something topical, try Caladryl. It is a mixture of calamine lotion and Benadryl (ok so you will look a little pink). The calamine lotion will dry out any hives and the Benadryl will stop the itching. If you just want to stop the itching, don't laugh but there is a great product for pets with allergies called Petaseptic Lotion. When pets have allergies, it shows up in their skin. This stuff heals the skin and stops the itch. Don't laugh, but I keep a bottle under my sink for bug bites and rashes. This stuff is so good at stopping itches, that it will even stop the itch from chiggers (and that is a mean itch).


Also, if you want a good soothing lotion for sensitive skin, then try the Vanicream. I will put links for both. I have used both and they are great. But the real question you need to be asking is "What causes me to have an allergic reaction on my skin?"
