Does anyone know if insurance covers these? I called one doctor and he told me it would cost over $500 for just the skin prick test! I really need to have it done but can't afford that!

Your insurance typically covers allergy testing. Some insurances require pre-certification or prior authorization. Just call the customer service number on your card and ask if its a covered service. Some insurances will only pay if its done by a specialist.
The cost for either scratch tests or RAST tests are very prohibitive. Typically RAST test costs will depend on the number of things that will be tested. Usually $100-500. Same with skin scratch test. You might try calling other providers to see who is most affordable if your insurance doesn't cover. Same with labs if you decide to do the RAST test.

Reply:Do you have insurance? if you do it should be just a copayment. I would talk to your regular dr to see what they can do first. also check out any free clinics they may be able to help
