at the end of school last year, i developed this skin allergy. whenever i even slighty scratch my self, it gets pretty red and swells up right around the line of the scratch. it's so strange..
i went to the doctor and she prescribed me this special lotion.... it did not work at all.
i don't know what to do. i guess the deal is just i have super sensitive skin? it's not even light, i'm a little tan (if that changes anything...) it's still weird how this just started recently, though.
what is this, and how do treat it??
Strange allergies.. what do i do?
Hi, it sounds like you may have something called dermographism. It is a form of hives (urticaria). Here's a website with some info and pictures. http://dermnetnz.org/reactions/dermograp...
Antihistamines like benadryl, claritin or aerius can stop this from happening.
Hopefully this helps!
Reply:I'm wondering what you are being scratched with. It might be an allergy to whatever that might be.............cat, poison ivy, brush, fingernails, etc. . A trip to an allergist would be a good idea if it is a big bother. He can test you for many things and maybe come up with an answer and a remedy. Just keep on investigating and you will find it sooner or later . Good luck!
